01- Bill certified Pokhara, Oct 19 (RSS): Pradesh Pramukh of Gandaki State Baburam Kunwar has certified the Bill designed to management of vehicles and transport, 2076. The Bill had been sent for certification by the Gandaki State Assembly Secretariat following certification by the Speaker of the Assembly. The Bill was certified on Friday as per Article 199 (1) of the Constitution, according to the Office of the Pradesh Pramukh. --- 02- Exams postponed Kathmandu, Oct 19 (RSS): The National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) has postponed the entrance examinations for MD/MS/MDS level studies. The examinations were supposed to be held today. The examinations were postponed as per the direction of the Ministry of Health and Population, NAMS Dean Prof Piyush Dahal said. NAMS has a total of 115 seats for MD/MS/MDS and 21 seats for DM/MCH approved by the concerned authorities. --- 03- Vitamin A administration begins today Biratnagar, Oct 19 (RSS): Vitamin 'A' drops are being administered to children between six months to five years across the country today and tomorrow. Accordingly, all preparations for the same have been completed in State no. 1, according to the Ministry of Social Development. Along with the Vitamin A capsules, anti-worming tablets will also be administered to the children today and tomorrow, said Community Nursing Officer Kesu Kafley at the Health Division of the Ministry. The anti-worming tablets however will be administered to children above one year old. The Ministry targets to reach out to 442,802 children for Vitamin A and 389,933 for anti-worming tablets in the State. Accordingly, 8,970 women health volunteers are being mobilized to complete the task in two days, adds the Ministry. ---

04- Night Jeep Safari in Sauraha Krishna Acharya Bharatpur, Oct 19 (RSS): Targeting the Visit Nepal Year 2020, preparations are being made for beginning a night-time jeep safari in Sauraha of Chitwan. The new addition is aimed at lengthening the stay of the tourists in Sauraha and will begin soon after Tihar festival, said Regional Hotel Association Chitwan Chair Dipak Bhattarai. The Jeep safari will start from Sauraha and reach up to Lothar via the Kumaroj buffer community forest. This is claimed to be the first night jeep safari in the country. The route of the night safari passes in between a community forest and the Chitwan National Park, also including the Rapti river. The distance designed for the night safari is about 30 kilometers and is expected to take around 4 hours, said Bhattarai. This is expected to help attract both foreign and local tourists. Kumaroj buffer community forest Chair Ganesh Kumar Shrestha said 60 per cent of the income made from the night jeep safari will be used for the protection and conservation of the forest itself. This will be new for those coming to Chitwan for Jungle Safari. Meanwhile, Chief Protection Officer at Chitwan National Park Narayan Rupakheti says special attention needs to be paid to protection issues while running Jeep Safari and other activities inside the park. He emphasized on the need to use electric vehicles as far as possible to minimize pollution caused by vehicles. Rupakheti however said that the park authorities stand ready to support the great campaign of VNY 2020 announced by the government. Sauraha is the third most preferred tourist destination in the country. Tourists especially come here for visiting the National Park and going for elephant ride and jeep safari. There are 150 hotels and 80 restaurants in Sauraha, with a capacity to hold 7,000 tourists in a day. In 2018, a total of 150,000 tourists including domestic and foreign had visited Sauraha. --- 05- Tarun Dal to observe its founding day Kathmandu, Oct 19 (RSS): Nepal Tarun Dal, the sister organisation of main opposition, Nepali Congress is to observe its 67th founding day by organising a variety of programmes across the country. The meeting of the organisation held on Friday decided to observe the day on October 27 by organising creative and constructive activities. Chairperson of Tarun Dal, Jit Jung Basnet said that a decision has been taken to organise blood donation, sports, cleaning activities, seminar, rally, morning procession and a tea reception. It has also sent a circular to all its district chapters to observe the day in a grand manner. --- 06- Foreign Minister visits Mahabijaya Chaitya -Special correspondent Shyam Rimal Yangoon, Oct 19 (RSS): Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali visited the Mahabijaya Chaitya here today. Minister Gyawali is currently here as part of the Nepali delegation led by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on a State-visit to Myanmar. The Foreign Minister was accompanied by other senior members of the delegation. The team led by Minister Gyawali also observed a statute of Buddha at the shrine. The pagoda-style shrine in located in the Dhammarakhita hills. Upon arrival, the Nepali team was welcomed by the Head of the local government. It may be noted that during a visit there in 1980, then King Birendra had gifted a statute of Buddha to the Chaitya. --- 07- Nawalparasi first in Dohori competition Parasi, Oct 19 (RSS): The National Folk and Dohori Song Academy, Nawalparasi has come first in the national dohori song competition held in Bardaghat of West Nawalparasi. The event was organised in order to protect, promote and preserve the unique folk music of the country. A total of 9 teams from Nawalparasi, Gulmi, Palpa and Rupandehi had taken part in the competition. The group led by Laxmi Basnet stood first in the competition. Likewise, Deurali Roghi Ghar Butwal led by Bikram Babu Biswakarma came second and the group led by Raj Kumar Neupane of Godhuli Rodhi Ghar, Butwal came third. The event was hosted by the Dauntari FM radio station to mark its third anniversary in collaboration with the National Folk and Dohori Song Academy. The winners bagged a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively, according to managing director of the FM radio station, Narayan Bhandari. On the occasion, popular folk artist like Shanti Shree Pariyar, Narayan Lekali, Bharat Chettr, Bhuparaj Neupane and others presented their songs and performances to entertain the audience.
